Akhil Amer, a Berlin-based artist, hails from Swaida, Syria. Raised in a creative environment shaped by his father, Emad, a skilled craftsman, Akhil developed an early passion for art, beginning with sculpture and experimenting with various materials. The Syrian Civil War forced him to leave behind his education.
Determined to continue his work, Akhil relocated to Germany, where he now studies product design at the Weissensee School of Art and Design in Berlin. His multidisciplinary approach blends traditional craftsmanship with modern technology and urban culture, resulting in dynamic, multi-sensory designs. His versatility in working across materials and contexts has led him to explore new directions in art and design, whether through sculpture, or product design.
Akhil's journey, from hands-on craftsmanship in Syria to advanced design in Berlin, highlights his adaptability and dedication to innovation. Today, he merges analog and digital techniques to create visually captivating and functional designs.
